IT Manager
Backstop, a SaaS software product company, is looking for an IT Manager to lead the team that keeps our production infrastructure humming, our employees productive, and all systems secure.
We offer a quite-interesting IT environment for a small company, including Oracle RAC, NetApp SAN, and multisite BGP; the systems and people managed by you handle sensitive financial data in large, multitenant, highly concurrent applications.
You will lead a team of 4 employees, and through them will be responsible for:
- Our customer-facing IT operations
- Our internal IT operations -- about 60 workstations (Windows/Mac/Linux) in a single office, and associated network
- Running cross-functional IT projects
- Managing personnel and equipment spending; negotiating vendor agreements
- Coordinating readiness activities including penetration tests, disaster recovery, and regulatory compliance
- Anticipating the need for change, reacting to changes imposed by the business, and making change happen
These are some technologies that we use, and you ought to be notably strong in at least one of the them:
- Oracle 10g/11g in a RAC deployment
- CentOS, deployed by Puppet, running Java EE 5 on JBoss and Rails on Passenger
- Heterogeneous-OS workstations and associated server-side morsels
- Exchange, BES, Symantec suite
A successful history managing people is a must. Prior startup and/or SaaS experience is a big plus.
