You will be responsible for design and development of large sections of our flagship product.

The application runs on Linux / JBoss / Tomcat 5 / JSR-168 portlets. This is a senior technical position; you will be expected to learn new subject matters, and then design and build the right software to solve the problem. You must be able to clearly and concisely communicate with non-technical clients.

Requirements:

• Enterprise scale Java J2EE development, which should include Hibernate
• Solid OO modelling ability (Design Patterns, Refactoring) is a must
• Ability to do front end (HTML, JavaScript) development
• Modern RDBMS experience
• JUnit

Must Be Willing to Learn:

• JBoss, Tomcat 5, and IntelliJ IDEA
• JSR-168 Portlets, Stripes and Hibernate
• JavaScript frameworks such as Prototype, Scriptaculous, DWR
• Ant
• AspectJ
• An understanding of financial and statistical metrics, and basic accounting

Please Highlight Experience With:

• Performance tuning and clustering of large transactional applications
• Continuous Integration: CruiseControl, JUnit
• Dynamic languages; most of our developers can hang in at least one other language
• Web service and XML schema design; SOA evangelists will be tolerated but perhaps not embraced
• Custom Tags
• Participation in Open Source projects
• Browser-based UI in CSS, JavaScript, and related frameworks
• Hibernate or EJB3
• Spring or Pico
• CAPM / MPT / GAAP
• Oracle Administration
• XP, Scrum, or other Agile experience
• JBoss administration, cluster management
• Any other technical skills or experience that you think will be of interest
• Experience with financial instruments (equities, fixed income, FX, swaps, futures, forwards, etc.)
• Experience with Hedge Funds or other Alternative Investment Vehicles
